Typemac is a macOS application that plays mechanical keyboard sounds when you type. You are purchasing a perpetual license to use the version of the software available at the time of purchase, plus all future updates to that major version.
Your license key can be activated on up to 2 devices simultaneously. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the software. Personal and commercial use are both permitted — you can use Typemac on your work Mac.
We don't offer automatic refunds. If Typemac genuinely doesn't work on your machine, email hello@typemac.app — we'll do everything we can to fix it, and if we can't, we'll refund you. Refunds are not available for change of mind or "it's not for me" reasons.
Typemac requires macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later. It works on both Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs. It requires the user to grant Input Monitoring permission, which is a standard macOS privacy control.
Typemac uses Input Monitoring permission solely to detect that a key was pressed and trigger the appropriate audio sample. It does not record, store, or transmit what you type. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports. The app makes a single HTTPS request on launch to validate your license key — nothing else leaves your machine. For complete details, see our privacy policy.
Typemac is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for any damage resulting from use of the software — including the strange looks you'll get from coworkers.
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the software after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll notify registered users by email for material changes.
